Review

1 July 2001 is the official day of WyberNet’s foundation. The idea of offering professionally engaged lesbian women a platform for the exchange of expertise without having to exclude part of their identity met with great interest and enthusiasm ; ten years later our network now consists of some 200 members in six regional chapters.

Insight

Monthly regional meetings – lectures – a mentoring program to fester young lesbian professionals – social and cultural events – professional skill-sharing – cultivation of business contacts – cultural trips in Switzerland and abroad.

We not only establish connections within the lesbian and gay community but also forge links to other national and international professional networks, women’s groups and LGBT organizations.

Outlook

We want to further strengthen and develop our association and intensify the exchange of knowledge and experience. A strong network and activities with a public presence help raise the prominence and self-awareness of lesbian professionals in society, business, culture and politics.
